Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Hey guys! It's been freaking long, hasn't it? It's February; I'm halfway done with my sophomore year and it's 2011!! My life is, per usual, changing rapidly.

This ear has been mostly good. I'm trying to just enjoy myself. My high school career is already halfway over. It's crazy how fast four years can fly by. But I'm happy that I'm happy with my life right now.

I spoke a couple posts ago about a friend that I had lost. This year, we have had college classes together. And I'm thrilled to say that we are the best of friends again. I love Rosie with all my heart and soul, and I love being her friend. Sometimes breaks can really help you appreciate someone for who they really are. My best friend Melissa who you all have heard of before and I have had a great year for the most part. In the recent coupla months though, our friendship has been slightly strained. I think she's just having a rough time and we just need space from each other. That doesn't change our friendship. These two girls right hurr^^ make my life what it is. They are my best friends and I love them both. <3

Family's family, we're working it out as best we can. We have our ups and downs, but Family is a vital part of life.

What I want to focus on in this post is decisions. So many decisions are made in our youth. From little ones like what to have for lunch to big ones like who to hang out with, which boy to take a chance on, and what is important to us. I see so many kids around me making bad choices. I want you to understand that NOBODY IS PERFECT. We can just try to be our best, make mistakes, learn from them, make more, try harder. That's just life.

Be yourself kiddies. And be HAPPY. There is absolutely no reason to wallow in petty matters. Life is so much bigger than right now. The world is so much bigger than your high school.

This was rambly. Oh well. <333's forever.

XO,
Em.

Summer.

It's funny how monumental the word summer is when you're young. Summer means so many things. Heat, the absense of school and the presence of fun. Staying up late, beach, pool, sleeping in, friends, romance. That's the dream high-school summer. Whatever summer means to you, I'm sure you remember the past ones. Each year we anxiously await "Summer 20__" We make Facebook Photo Albums dedicated to it. Summers are our opportunity to LIVE IT UP. Without the usual school/social pressures on, it's so easy to let go and truly enjoy life for 3 short months. Summer is without a doubt the time of your life.

It's really too bad my summer is almost over.

Hey guys. Quite an intro, I know. ;) I'm just not so excited about starting school again. While I love school way too much than is normal for a high-school student, summer is just like I said-- it's so ridiculously fun that it's really sucky thinking about homework and getting up early and all that fun stuff. I went school clothes shopping today. And let me tell you: I'm gonna be one well-dressed lady this year. I can't wait for school supplies; that's my favorite part!! College orientation is Tuesday, I'm excited times ten and a half.

Anyways, it's 1:48 a.m and I'm going shopping/to the movies tomorrow so I need to sleep. I'll see you next time!

XO

*Note: I'm too late to do BEDA this August, but I PROMISE I'll do it in April. If I don't, I'll give up ice cream for lent. :)

ROFLCOPTOUR 2010

Hey Guys! Sorry it's been so long. So on June 27th Lauren, Meghan, my dad and I went to see ROFLCOPTOUR. That consists of ALL CAPS, The Parselmouths, The Whomping Willows, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Lauren Fairweather, and Hayley of 5AG. And I have one thing to say about it: AMAZING.

It was my first ever time at a wizard rock event, and I felt right at home surrounded by all those awesome nerdfighters. I heard some new (to me) songs that I immediately loved. Then ALL CAPS played, and it was one of the best moments of my life. As wonderful as Luke and Kristina are online, they are ten times cooler in person. We got to meet them after the show and Luke was super funny and they were so nice. We had everyone sign our Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book, and Luke & Kristina signed a piece of paper that i taped up.

Meghan and I had a fantasticly nerdy time, and it was honestly one of the best days ever. I can't wait to do it again.

*Side note, I really wish I was going to VidCon. SO BAD.

Okay well I will TTYL because I'm presently talking to Andrea, and I can't pay attention.

Love forever,
Em.

One Year Down, 3 To Go.

I am no longer a Freshman. Yesterday, at 2:31 pm EST on June 9, 2010 I oficially became a Sophomore. Let me tell you something: It was one hell of a year, and I would never change it.

I have some regrets about the actions I took, but everything worked out in the end. I lost one of my best friends in the world, and while she's only an aquaintance now, I'll always love her and thank her for all she's done for me. I owe 90% of my self-confidence to her teachings. My best friend and I have had a pretty steady year. We continue to be there for each other through thick and thin. (Three more Meli!)

I made so many new friends that I treasure dearly. Kayla, Brandi, Bianca, Kelsey. Alex, Daniel, Logan. Jazmine, Emilie. Luis, Ricardo, Ivan. Austin. Everyone else!!

I will always remember Freshman Year as a whirlwind of emotions, love, laughter, fear, and happiness. I had no idea high school would be like this. But I love it.

Unfortunaely, I lot of my beloved teachers were layed off/transfered this year. So thank you a million times over to my wonderful teachers:
Ms. Kalevakis & Ms. Fourtounis
Mr. Adams
Mr. Murphy
Mr. Smallwood
Mrs. Vitatoe
Ms. Woname

I <3 you so much!

James Ford Rhodes is one school that I will remember forever and always. It scares me to death that I only get 3 more years to live it up here. College looms in the future. I've never been more excited for summer and school in the fall. I'm starting HTA in September, and new challenges await me.

I'm not sure how it'll all play out.

I'm just along for the ride.

Late Night Blog Sessions

Hey lovely blog readers. I always seem to get in the blog writing mood late at night. It's a problem.

Today's is just a short one though. I just want to share a little something with you. And excuse my french:

When it comes to being yourself and showing your personality, I say you shouldn't be afraid. Always feel comfortable with yourself. Sometimes I struggle with this, and I think everyone does. I'm proud to know that I'm secure in the respect that I'm not scared to be myself. My best friend is not as outgoing as I am, and often tells me I embarrass her when I'm just being my usual crazy self. I honestly feel that she is wrong to feel that. I'm me, and I can't change that. I'm mature enough to know when to be serious, but most of the time I'm just a fun-loving, loud, wild girl. And I like it. Watching YouTube and getting to know these people that put themselves out there so much made me realize that if I don't enjoy life and just live it up to the fullest, there's no point in living.

My honest-to-goodness advice on dealing with people that judge you or make fun of you being you is Fuck It. You're just you. If you want to wear Batman pajamas to the movies instead of skinny jeans, I'll get my Toy Story ones and we'll make it a party. If you want to die your hair green, call yourself Asparagus. Own it. Be you, and love yourself.

That's just my opinion.
But alas, it's midnight and I need to sleep. School's almost over, but I'll talk about that next time. I want to finish these last 6 days and then make a real post about my freshman year and the summer ahead.

Kisses,
Em.

In the Daylight

Hey Guys! Long time no see. :D

Today I just wanted to talk to you about courage. Bravery and confidence are two qualities that I feel are sometimes under-appreciated. It takes a special kind of person to have courage, whether it be in general or in yourself.

I like to believe that I'm a courageous person. That given the chance, I would save a stranger from a burning building or throw myself in front of a bullet for someone I loved. But the truth is that I have no idea if I would have the courage. If I would be strong enough to give myself up for someone else, my country, etc. As for taking risks, I always seem to hover on the edge. I'm too afraid to leap, to jump. I wish I were able to just live without hesitation. Unfortunately, I can't. This is something that I've accepted about myself. But it's also something I want to change.

Courage: –noun
the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.

Fearless. It's what I want to be. It's what I will never be. But it never hurt to dream.

But I digress.

Favorite Song OTM:

** I highly recommend you listen to my suggested songs as you read the corresponding blog. It gives you some insight to what I was listening to as I wrote. KTHXBAI!

Friday Nights Spent With Me & The Internet.

Hi there, blog, it's been a while, no? I think I'll just fill you in on my life currently. That's pretty much the reason I started this blog. To have something to look back on in a few years and remember what it was like way back when. So, this is the story of my life, right now. Let's go.

Last weekend was absolutely amazing. It was crazy, busy, and nervewracking. I had a whole hecka of a lot of fun. On Friday, I attempted to go to the mall. Halfway there, our car broke down. After many failed attempts at starting it, we called my dad to come rescue us. My brother and I took a little walk to McDonalds, where I got my second caramel frappe. (my new ADDICTION; sew gewd!)Finally after nearly an hour of iced coffee drinking/ "im going on a picnic" games with versions like Disney movies and Harry Potter characters, my dad finally arrived. He managed to get the car started, but a few blocks away, we broke down again. With the hood smoking, we figured it was about time to stop driving that car. Luckily, one of our very kind church friends was our saviour and drove us to another church family-friend's house. There, all 9 of us piled into their mini-van and we drove to our church for the annual Game Night. After a fun night of Bunco, Wii, and just plain fun, plus delicious desserts, we cleaned up and drove home. Our extremely generous friends let us keep their van overnight. Basically, it was a stressful evening, but with the kindness of the peple around us, it turned out fine. Now, I turned apprehensively to the next day. I felt like I'd never get all the places I needed to be with no car. Nevertheless, we made it work.

On Saturday I woke up much later than I'd planned. Feeling stressed and overwhelmed, I cried for nearly a half hour, before jumping into the shower and coming to my senses. I could mope through this weekend, or I could make the most out of these exciting experiences ahead of me. A few hours later, all dolled up with curly hair, makeup, and fancy dress, my mom and I once again took advantage of our friend Lou's huge generosity. We set off to pick up my friend Meghan and headed to my best friend Melissa's church for her quincenera service. It was beautiful, as was she. My mom even cried. Even though the service was almost entirely in Spanish, I still understood the love and meaning of this event. It was important to me to be there for my best friend as she had this huge moment in her life. I love her so much, and to see her so happy in her big white dress was very rewarding for me. Lissa, I couldn't be more excited and happy to have you as a Best Friend. You're the world <333

After dropping Meghan off at our friend April's house, we continued home. We said goodbye to Lou for a short hour so I could change into full costume (ugh) for final dance competition practice. Two exhausting hours later, I was ready to go back home and change right back into my dress and go to Melissa's reception. We stayed for a few hours and then had to head home so I could get some sleep before Competition the next day. I didn't get to sleep until 12. Sigh. :)

The next morning began one of the most interesting, fun, nervewracking days of my life. After getting ready (curling hair, heavy makeup, bodytights, fishnets, costume, packing bag, etc)I was finally ready to embark on my first Dance Competition. I had no idea what to expect. Upon arriving at the I LOVE DANCE competition, I was soo nervous. We were #66, which was soon, considering our division started around 50. Backstage was controlled mayhem. Monica had a minor costume malfunction, but all was mended with a quick safety pin. My dance-mates and I were very anxious because this was our first competition, and we were competing against girls that had done this their whole lives. The floor was a little slippery, Marissa tripped coming out of her assisted cartwheel, and our smiles drooped a little, but overall we did fantastic. Our taps had never been more together, we looked great, and coming off the stage I had a giddy sensation in my stomach. Turns out, I love performing. The judges were intimidating, but soon I got over it. We watched many other dances, then my famiy and I went out to eat at Carrabbas. This was that hardest part of the day because my dad made me wear the costume under my warmups, so i was extremely hot, uncomfortable, tired, and crabby. My headache was enormous. As soon as we got back to the competition though, it all melted away. I joined the other girls in the middle of the floor and together, my friends and I awaited the awards show. I am proud to announce that everyone at my studio got a second place rosette or first place trophy for each of their dances. As for our dance, Jordan and I were proud to accept our very first FIRST PLACE TROPHY!! I was so proud of us. All our hard work in the studio had paid off. You can bet that Monica, Marissa, Jordan and I will be back in two years, better than ever.
Huge thanks to my dance teachers for their amazing encouragement and teaching. Cassie, Michelle, Kim, and Caty: I <3 you!

After a long weekend, I was so happy to fall in my bed. I admit this is my first real time on the internet since last Thursday. That was 8 days ago! For me, that's a hellofa long time. It was refreshing. This weekend looks just as full & fun, so I'll fill you in later. I'm tired of writing now, so I'll catch ya later. Thanks for playing! :)
